LifeTag - a product of Enterchange Innovations Pvt Ltd | Last updated: July 17, 2026

Enterchange Innovations Pvt Ltd, operating as LifeTag / The Tag for Life ("LifeTag," "we," "us," "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal data when you purchase a LifeTag product, create or manage a LifeTag profile, use our website or app, or when a third party scans your LifeTag QR/NFC code.

This Policy is designed to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and applicable rules made thereunder, as well as the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, to the extent applicable to us as a data fiduciary operating in India.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Definitions

  • "Personal Data" means data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to such data.
  • "Data Principal" means the individual to whom the personal data relates — i.e., you, or in the case of a profile for a minor or dependent, the individual on whose behalf you act as parent/guardian.
  • "Data Fiduciary" means Enterchange Innovations Pvt Ltd, which determines the purpose and means of processing your personal data.
  • "Processing" means any operation performed on personal data, including collection, storage, use, sharing, and deletion.
  • "Sensitive Personal Data" includes health data, medical conditions, and similar categories that require additional care in processing.

2. What Information We Collect

a. Information you provide directly:

  • Account details: name, email address, phone number.
  • Profile information for your LifeTag: emergency contacts, blood group, allergies, medical conditions, medications, and any other details you choose to add.
  • Pet profile details, where applicable (pet name, breed, owner/vet contact).
  • Order and shipping information: delivery address, payment confirmation (payment card details are processed by our third-party payment processor and are not stored by us).
  • Communications you send us, such as support requests.

b. Information collected automatically:

  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and app usage data, where you interact with our website or app.
  • Scan events: when your LifeTag QR/NFC code is scanned, we may log the time and approximate general context of the scan to help you understand tag usage. We do not track or store the identity of the person scanning your tag unless they voluntarily provide it.

3. Legal Basis and Consent

We process your personal data primarily on the basis of your consent, provided at the time you register, create a profile, or activate a LifeTag. Where relevant, we may also process data:

  • To perform our contract with you (fulfilling your order, operating your profile);
  • To comply with a legal obligation;
  • For legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention and service security, as permitted under the DPDP Act.

You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at connect@thetagforlife.com, subject to the effect that withdrawal may have on our ability to provide the Service (for example, a LifeTag cannot display emergency information if you withdraw consent to store it).

4. Special Note on Emergency Profile Data

The core function of LifeTag is to make certain information visible to anyone who scans your QR code or taps your NFC tag — including strangers, first responders, and other third parties. This is fundamentally different from typical account data:

  • You control which fields are populated on your public-facing emergency profile.
  • Information you choose to include in your public profile is, by design, disclosed to any scanner, without LifeTag verifying the identity or intent of the scanner.
  • We recommend only including information you are comfortable being seen by an unknown third party in an emergency context, and to periodically review your profile.
  • Certain account-level data (e.g., your login email, order history, payment details) is not shown on the public scan page and remains accessible only to you and to us as described in this Policy.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create, host, and display your LifeTag emergency profile;
  • Process orders, payments, and shipping;
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • Maintain and improve the security, functionality, and reliability of the Service;
  • Send service-related communications (order updates, security notices);
  • Send optional marketing communications, only where you have opted in, and which you may opt out of at any time;
  • Comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Sharing & Disclosure of Information

We may share your information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processing, courier/shipping partners, SMS/email delivery), under contractual obligations to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
  • Legal and regulatory authorities, where required by law, court order, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LifeTag, our users, or the public.
  • Successors, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to equivalent privacy protections.

We do not share your sensitive personal data with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

7. Data Storage, Security & Retention

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting — to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; while we work to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account or LifeTag profile is active, and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your data at any time, as described in Section 9.

Where our servers or service providers are located outside India, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data continue to receive an appropriate standard of protection, consistent with the DPDP Act's provisions on cross-border data transfer.

8. Children's & Dependents' Data

LifeTag profiles for minors, elderly dependents, or others unable to independently consent must be created and managed by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver, who is responsible for the accuracy of the information and for obtaining any consent required under applicable law (including parental consent requirements under the DPDP Act for data relating to children). We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children without such guardian involvement.

9. Your Rights as a Data Principal

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and the processing activities associated with it;
  • Correct, complete, and update your personal data;
  • Erase your personal data, including your LifeTag profile, where it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to our legal retention obligations;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, as described in Section 3;
  • Nominate another individual to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity;
  • Grievance redressal, as described in Section 11.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at connect@thetagforlife.com. We will respond within the timelines prescribed under applicable law.

13. Third-Party Links

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.
